You're officially not allowed to hate your internet.
Netflix is fine, but Youtube encounters shenanigans.

But what about the other 8%? What are they on? IPoAC?

Still would be lower latency than IP over Avian Carriers as described in RFC 1149.
But there's always hope: https://what-if.xkcd.com/31/

Have you been limited 10gb a month for a family of four? Is an extra gig $20? If not, you should try Dish Network Satellite Internet.

Your internet is like super fast, and I'm jealous.

Does the internet go out when it rains, when a bird flies over, or when there is absolutely no obstructions whatsoever, because the satellite cannot get a signal? Does it take a month, several hundred dollars, and threats against their mothers to cancel it? Comcast is a walk in the park, clearly enough people haven't experienced the hell that is Dish Network internet.

Mine's ok.

my brother sent me a shot of his ps4 download speed...measured in KB/s. He can't play any game at school and at that speed even his laptop is shit.
This isn't over WiFi either. We're talking lan

I live in pain because this connection costs $38 per month. Can't even purchase a bundled package because the television channels my parents need are only available by Dish Network.
And the only other decent competitor is Comcast and they keep sending crap in the mail that we should switch over but they want us to pay for the set-up and equipment and barely get any faster speed.

I'm sorry

My home internet isn't bad either:

After dealing with incredibly bad internet throughout the DFW Metroplex, I am finally buying a house that has Verizon FiOS. I have dealt with Clear wireless (6 MBit for the first 4 gigs, then they throttle you to 512 kbs!) and then Grande Communications (6 MBit, occasionally, on odd numbered Pagan holidays, 0.2 MBit all other times).
I am sorry for your troubles.

Im with you there. Was just telling the wife in another couple years we will inevitably move again and im shopping areas with fiber screw dealing with this over priced "high speed internet" from twc.

Is that even legal to do to you poor students? I rarely have sympathy but I think you are deserving of it right now. Campus internet speed should be priority no matter what they end up being used for. Just seems like an easy way to please the students. I wonder where the fastest schools are? Mentioned below that when we buy our next home access to fiber will be a must. Screen shot of my not great considering what I pay "high speed" connection.

it is good for everything except online gaming. Since it is a cellular connection, my ping varies from 80ms all the way up to 500/600.
Don't be jealous, I have to pay an arm and a leg to stay off of dialup.

I forgot what buffering is.
Although TWC is my only choice until Fiber or Fios is available.

Actually they do not experience that as much as they used to. The new dishes that are out now rarely lose signal and some of them have dual receivers specifically to combat that.

When did these dishes come out? We got rid of dish a year ago, and we certainly did not have that experience.

I've had mine like 2 years now and I've only experienced a total of maybe 5 interruptions iirc.
